Taking a few moments to focus on our health today can be an important step towards a healthier tomorrow.
As part of Project Sunkalp, a cancer screening camp was conducted at Ramapuram PHC, Madurantakam, bringing preventive healthcare and early detection services closer to the local community.
A total of 65 beneficiaries participated in the screening, including 20 men and 45 women.
The camp provided:
• 36 iBreast Examinations
• 60 Oral Examinations
• 17 Pap Smear Tests
The screening identified 2 gynaecological findings requiring further medical evaluation and follow-up. These are screening findings and do not by themselves confirm a cancer diagnosis. Appropriate medical consultation and further assessment are important to determine the next steps.
The participation of 45 women highlights the importance of making breast and cervical cancer screening accessible within the community. At the same time, the involvement of both men and women reinforces the need for greater awareness about oral cancer and the importance of preventive healthcare for everyone.
Cancer may not always show noticeable warning signs in its early stages. Regular screening can help identify suspicious changes early and encourage timely medical consultation and follow-up.
For many communities, accessing specialised healthcare can be challenging due to distance, cost, time, or limited awareness. Project Sunkalp works to reduce these barriers by bringing cancer screening services closer to people through local healthcare facilities and community-based camps.
Through Project Sunkalp, Kalpavriksham Trust continues to work with PHCs, local communities, healthcare professionals, and CSR partners to expand access to cancer screening across Madurantakam.
Kalpavriksham Trust is registered under 12AB, 80G, and CSR-1 (MCA) and is listed on NGO Darpan, with transparent camp-wise impact reporting for CSR partnerships.
Would your PHC, village, panchayat, organisation, or workplace like to host a cancer screening camp? get in touch with us. Together, we can bring early detection closer to every community.
